Well, what can we say about the widow sons MC Easter egg run. The chosen few arrived at the clubhouse under Darkened skies and he should not be named couldn’t keep his bike vertical. We all laughed like hell, funny how it’s always hilarious when it’s not yours. Anyway time for the serious stuff. We had a brew and did a bit of fiddling and fettling, got young Gemma warmed up with a Hoodie and looked up at the skies that were becoming blue. We thought bugger that and have one last fag before, which was a godsend in the end (but you’ll find out why later on).

So off we went up the Atlantic Highway towards Davidstow airfield. The roads were drying the sun was shining and the temperature was warming till we went through the top of Camelford. As we reached the top of the hill, the skies turned black, the roads were wet and we thought we’re gonna get seriously soaked… but as it happens the black clouds and the rain drifted away just ahead! We pulled into the Camelford Garage to get some fuel and it stayed dry. That’s why I said that last fag was a blessing! We arrived up at the airfield and the winds were blowing a hoolie. One of our members found it to be very expensive, as one of the marshalls pulled the entry money out of his sleeve pocket to pay and a 20 pound note goes flying through the air. As you can imagine one pissed off bunny. Anyway we all met up and walked amongst the bikes and had a chat and a bit of banter with the riders.

We were given the five minute warning and the sound of a few hundred Motorcycles fired up with a wondrous roar. We set off in a long snake-like trail of bikes going through the back lanes. God help anyone that wants to get out of the side roads because there is a lot of bikes coming through. As we rode back through the villages the roadsides were all aligned with children, parents and even grandparents all wanting us to rev our bikes, which of course we had to oblige! We sounded like thunder that even made a few jump. And they loved it. What can we say about the marshalls apart from absolutely fantastic. You knew every junction, every roundabout, all the direction pointing and they even had a little dance in some of them which is brilliant so thank you! We all pulled off in the end at Cornwall services and said our goodbyes. Thank you again to Widows Sons Kernow for an amazing ride with so many bikes all there for a great cause, not to mention all the money raised for charity (over 5k I believe).

What else can we say? We made some bloody noise.
